Experience
With decades of experience spanning municipal, provincial, and federal politics as well as 30 years of business consulting – Ron is ready to share that experience and work together to build a community of HOPE.
01
Municipal Experience
Ron was first elected to Kelowna City Council in the November 1996 civic election for a three-year term.
During this time, he also served as a director for the Central Okanagan Regional District/Hospital District Board, 5 years on the executive including 2 years as President of the Okanagan Mainline Municipal Association (now Southern Interior Local Government Association) plus 2 years as Director of UBCM Executive.

02
Provincial Experience
In 2016, Ron served 3 years as Board Director for The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSABC). The LTSABC is a publicly accountable, statutory corporation with a unique governance structure responsible for administering the land title and survey systems in BC. He worked with various provincial agencies and developed systems which provided the foundation for all real property business and ownership in the province.
LTSABC delivers secure land titles through timely and efficient registration of land title interests and survey records. These services are an essential underpinning to BC’s private property market and the civil justice system, civic governance, taxation and Crown land management frameworks. LTSABC also encompasses its wholly-owned subsidiary, LandSure which develops and operates LTSA’s mission-critical technology to enable land-related transactions. With support from the LandSure team, LTSABC processes over four million online business transactions each year.

03
Federal Experience
Ron won the Conservative Party nomination in May 2005 for Kelowna-Lake Country. Was subsequently elected as Member of Parliament on January 23, 2006, in the 2006 federal election by capturing nearly fifty-percent of the votes.
He went on to be re-elected in the 2008 and 2011 elections and served a total of 9 consecutive years as a devoted Member of Parliament of Canada.
As MP, Ron served on numerous key Standing Committees in the House of Commons including the very important Finance Committee and Veterans Affairs Committee while serving on the International Trade Committee. Ron’s participation was critical in opening doors for many Canadian businesses to grow and prosper. Ron was also the Co-Chair of the Canada-Taiwan Parliamentary Committee, Vice Chair of the Canada-US Committee and Co-Chair of the Canadian Wine Caucus which dealt mainly with government regulations and policies that negatively affected Canadian vintners.
In 2013, Ron was only 1 of 3 MPs not in cabinet to serve on the Treasury Board Sub-Committee on Government Administration, and as such he became entitled to the title “Honourable” as a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada for life. This special Cabinet sub-committee focused on finding ways to make government more efficient and effective. Ron developed a productive relationship with the Okanagan Indian Band and Westbank First Nation over the course of his term, which he continues to maintain to this day.
